Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Just what is the internet? – THE INTERNET IS MADE OF CATS! Of course!
- AT&T goes head to head with Verizon, drops prices on its unlimited plans – I have a sudden new interest in the costs of data plans, so this is welcome news …
- Some Card Fees Waived for Haiti Aid – Bucks Blog – NYTimes.com – It occurs to me that charitable giving is not such a huge amount and source of credit card fee revenue that they would not benefit (from the publicity) from making such deductions permanent for all charities.
- Beck: Obama is ‘dividing the nation’ by reacting ‘so rapidly to Haiti.’ – Of course, Beck and Limbaugh are being disingenuously divisive. They can’t possibly be so stupid as to not see the difference here.
- Rep. King: Undocumented Haitians Should Be Deported Because Haiti Is In ‘Great Need Of Relief Workers’ – What a loving, kind approach to the situation, Rep. King.
- Wall Street Investors Lavish Scott Brown’s Campaign With Money, Get Out The Vote Operations – Money talks. The question is, will people listen?
- You can’t even trust ELCA – My own alma mater, Pomona, was founded by Congregationalists, but eventually shed its sectarian roots (as shallow and inclusive as they were). That’s meant some scrubbing away of some of the religious symbolism (e.g., the old motto, “Our Tribute to Christian Civilization”), but the college seems just as rich for it (including various religious activities).
- World’s Most Talented Man – Well … I feel inadequate …
- HOT!!! Google Mobile App Lets You Search Local Contacts & Emails Using Your Voice! – Flagging this to look into it further.
- The Original ‘Wonka’ Kids All Grown Up! – Still love this version of the movie.
- “Geek” Is No Longer a Four-Letter Word – I feel vaguely cheated that “kids these days” don’t face the social opprobrium we did for being “geeks.” Heck, they have geeky TV characters to make heroes out of.
