- CampusProgress.org | By the Numbers: Student Loan Company Lobbying – If they have that much money to lobby with, then clearly they’re making huge profits with our taxpayer money (and from our needy students). I really don’t see a reason why my taxes should go to someone using my tax money to lobby to protect their profits from my taxes.

- Secret ACTA fights over iPod border-searches – Remember that Big Media will pressure the government to allow them access to anyone and anything, anywhere, if they think it will help curb “piracy” (and/or protect their profits). Do you really want border guards searching your iPod, your computer, your thumb drives, your camera chips, etc.? Do you really think they don’t want just that thing?

Of course, the early administrations did all sorts of things that TODAY would be considered unconstitutional (the Alien and Sedition Acts being an obvious example), but having this example to throw back at the GOP (tied to Militias and Gun-Bearing, no less!) is delightful.
