Unblogged Bits (Wed. 19-May-10 0800)

Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….

  1. Prayer And Death Threats: Church-State Battle At Senior Center Turns Ugly « The Wall of Separation – I find it remarkable that folks are willing to be violent (or threaten likewise) for the sake of Jesus. I believe he had something to say about that. Or several somethings.
  2. Michael Tomasky: I’d say he’s changed all right – Money graf (quoted): “Of course, Israel—like the United States—must sometimes take morally difficult actions in its own defense. But they are morally difficult only if you allow yourself some human connection to the other side. Otherwise, security justifies everything.” Israel continues to erode (or even actively demolish) any moral high ground it claims to have, and at some point (demographically if not directly) its reflexive support from the US will come to a crashing end.
  3. Michael Tomasky: The use of Susan B. Anthony – Wow – can we include a link to this take-down every time the SBA-List folks open their yaps?
  4. Grassley Signs On To Estate Tax Bill That Could Exempt His Entire Fortune While Affecting Few Others – Gee, sometimes it would be nice if congresscritters had to recuse themselves from bills that would personally benefit themselves and their families. But, then, given the number of senators who are millionaires, that would leave a pretty empty chamber to debate this matter (which may go a long way in explaining why it keeps getting brought up).
  5. The New Hotmail Challenges Gmail – Yes, but I don’t want to be integrated into the whole Windows Live universe, and, honestly, I dont want to send (or receive) 10 Gb of attachments. That said, competition is good, and if this gets the Gmail team working on improvements, then it’s a good thing.
