And I am repulsed by the idea that it’s somehow justified in God’s name. “Never would I encourage vandalism, but in this case I think I’ll let it slide.” Is that would Jesus would do? Really? And why let it stop with vandalism, then? “I would never encourage the auto-de-fe, but in this case I think I’ll let it slide.” After all, when it’s in support of your religious beliefs against unbelievers, pretty much anything is justified, right?
