There were well-known Founders who were fully behind support and expansion of slavery, and others who were dead-set against it. (2) Beck has the scantest sliver of truth on his side — slaves were not valued “3/5 of a person” as a shocking devaluation of blacks vs. whites. They were considered that solely as a compromise between slaveholding states (which wanted them counted fully, even if they couldn’t, of course, vote) and anti-slavery forces who didn’t want them counted at all. The South eked out the 3/5 compromise, which still enabled them to maintain political domination of America for decades to follow .

Well, hopefully a live action version means that the will get rid of the annoying dragon that completely ruined the animated version.
The Eddie Murphy dragon was, in fact, my least favorite part of the movie, though as obligatory cute/sassy sidekicks in a Disney flick he was better than some.
