FF still has a much richer and more powerful extension community, and (through extension) a more robust tab handling capability. And because I run in those two browsers plus IE for some things at the office, Xmarks and LastPass remain my syncing tools of choice. That said, Chrome is a solid alternative, and does feel tighter and faster.

5. Drat. That Chrome-to-Android app sounds nice, but it’s only for Android 2.2. /sigh
OK, looking at Chrome, I have some questions.
It lets me set a home page, but how do I get to it? There’s no button to click.
How do I get my list of bookmarks? If I click the star, it says “Bookmark added!,” but then I have to edit the bookmarks to see a full list. Is there supposed to be a bookmarks button?
Are there really only 4-5 buttons? Forward, backward, refresh, option, and in the URL/search field, a star–that’s it?
To turn on the home button (at least in the mac version of Chrome) go to preferences>basics, and click the button that says “Toolbar: Show Home Button”
Pretty much, yes. Though various add-ins can add buttons.
Most of the functions can be found under the tool button (the little wrench), incl. the bookmark manager. Under Options there you can add a Home button (I don’t).
I have an “Other Bookmarks” button showing in my Bookmarks Bar, which accesses the bookmarks list.

Dave H., what is this “Bookmarks Bar” you speak of? I ahve not found any ay to set up status bars in Chrome.
Wrench > Tools > Always show bookmark bar
(I’ll admit that as sleek at the very clean Chrome interface it, it is sometimes difficult to find where functionality is hiding.)

Can I choose my download directory in Chrome?
Wrench – Options – Under the Hood – scroll down to Downloads. (I keep missing that dialog box internally scrolls.)
Huh. I, too, completely missed the scroll bar.
