Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Gingrich’s Latest Scam [Dispatches from the Culture Wars] – Any award that you have to pay to get is interested more in your payment than the award.
- Windows browsers benchmarked: October 2010 edition
- Your Facebook ‘friend’ may be a federal agent, says report – Two points: (1) Per se, this is not an altogether bad idea on the part of law enforcement, akin to an undercover cop in a bar keeping his ears open (and buying the occasional drink). It’s obviously open to abuse, but I would be surprised (and annoyed) if the Feds were NOT using Facebook and Twitter. (2) It’s not just the Feds, folks. Friends, unfriends, colleagues, employers, ex-employers, prospective employers, they’re all watching and recording what you say, potentially. Facebook and Twitter are not pprivate conversations, any more than blogs are, and you should always consider what you’re saying.
