Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Thanks, Conservatives! – “Have you, at long last, no sense of decency?”
- Another datum for our armchair psychoanalyzing – Okay, can we start with (a) the guy is a nutcase, (b) he was interested in Marx, (c) he was also interested in Hitler, (d) he was a pothead liberal back in high school, (e) he’s been espousing all sorts of interesting right/libertarian/nativist anti-immigration pro-gold-standard stuff, (f) he’s a registered Republican, (e) he shot a Democratic congresswoman, (f) he’s a NUTCASE. He’s not a Tea Partier. He’s not a Liberal Anarchist. He’s a Nutcase. (That’s a very different question than whose rhetoric may have inspired, enabled, or encouraged him in his murderous rampage.)
- Tea Party Leaders Strike Back at Left Over Giffords Incident – Um … I never knew that “Mein Kampf” was a favorite of “left-wing anarchists.” Learn something teapartyish every day!
- SSSCat Cat Training Aid – Um … wow. Making a note for when Margie gets home …
- No, Mr. Ailes, both sides don’t do it – Not all on the Right embrace violent rhetoric. Not all on the Left eschew it. But whether it’s a fondness for hunting, or a greater participation in the military, or a higher appreciation for the Second Amendment, or just general derangement, it certainly seems (as lined out here) that the Right engages in a heck of a lot more violent political rhetoric.
- Writer for lead conservative publication suggests government behind Giffords assassination attempt – Wow, that’s … yeah, WorldNutDaily.
- It’s like AdSense for Idiots – It would be funny were it not so tragic.

3. Perhaps you didn’t read it carefully enough. “Those are not volumes that are popular with the Tea Party so he was obviously a left-wing anarchist…” He had those books, so he was not a Tea Partier. Ergo, he is a left-wing anarchist, as are all non-Tea Partiers. QED.
6. As cynical as it sounds, Erik Rush could have orchestrated it to give himself another reason to make baseless accusations. Aha!
