Unblogged Bits (Thu. 17-Feb-11 0430)

Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….

  1. South Dakota lawmaker, under fire, is now mulling changes to “justifiable homicide” unborn proposal – I don’t buy it as an improvement. While abortion may be legal, the increasing maze of restrictions around it — notifications, requirements for information provision, waiting periods, which procedures are permitted, etc. — provide plenty of wiggle room for someone to claim they though the abortion was unlawful and for a sympathetic judge or jury to agree with them.
  2. Donohue: God Doesn’t Look Out For Progressive Religions – Well, if Bill Donohue questions my denomination and my faith, that makes me feel a lot better about them. We must be doing something right, if we’re drawing his particular brand of snottiness.
  3. Adam Shah: In Beck’s Mind, The Marxist-Islamist Revolution Is Gaining Steam In Wisconsin – Hey, Glenn, I hear that some of those protesters are actually putting on disguises and dumping TEA into the HARBOR! What is this world coming to?!
  4. Mike Burns: Beck Drags Anti-Poverty Organization Into His Campaign Against Google – I hear the Chinese have their own search engine, Glenn … maybe that would get you way from the Google-Obama-Soros-Islamo-Commie Search Engine Conspiracy.
  5. House rebuffs Boehner, scraps F-35 Jet Engine Program – Well, that’s refreshing.
  6. After Running Against Govt. Spending, GA Republicans Whine About Not Getting $105 Million Port Grant – Massive infrastructure spending for me, but not for thee!

  1. GO Teachers! GO Unions!

Did you know that the first public employees union in the US was created right here in Wisconsin?
