- The problem in a nutshell. – Yeah, the insane thing in this whole current frenzy is that the decisions are all about “do we cut vital government services by a lot or a little.” There are two sides to the deficit equation, and the GOP (abetted by the Dems) are only looking at the outgo, not the income. In fact, the GOP is worsening the problem by ratcheting the income downward.
