- “Only the dead have seen the end of war.” Who said that? – Sourcing quotations is sometimes a great challenge. Google can only get you so far.
- Can’t fire the bums to make a quality school: Principals division – There does need to be a mechanism to get rid of folks in education who are doing lousy jobs — and they do, in fact, exist. But kick-the-bums-out whip-cracking is not it, any more than it is in business. And you don’t fire folks when you’re not sure if you can get a replacement who’s better.

1. And they still let children carry lethal pencils around with them? It’s an outrage! By the way, do we have any figures on the number of paper cuts suffered annually? That stuff must be banned NOW!
