- Elizabeth Taylor, 1932-2011 – I was never a huge Liz Taylor fan, but she was, in her day, gorgeous, and she carried with her that “star” quality throughout her life. Her devotion to various causes — including AIDS activism — in her later years should also be noted and remembered.

- Federal judge rejects Google book monopoly – There were a lot of aspects to the Google book deal that were troublesome — but also some (like at least trying to address orphan works) that were of value. I hope this doesn’t toss the baby out with the bath water.
- Feature: Back to the front of the pack: Ars reviews Firefox 4 – Good overall review. so far, FF4 seems to be working well for me. May continue with it on my home machine, vs. the Chrome I’ve been using. We’ll see.
