- Mailbag Douchebag – Some people seem to seek out things to be offended over. Looking at the cartoon referenced, it appears that Bors’ grievous offense was the one bit about rating the hosts/bread/wafers at different churches — which is something I’ve heard Catholics talk and joke about themselves frequently. But, no, offended by this modestly clever jape (not, apparently, by the others), the letter writer has to complain to the editor AND the Catholic League. Yeesh.

Interesting. The letter writer claims that the cartoonist has a double standard because this cartoon attacks only Catholics. However, he or she also says “Christians, especially Catholics, seem to be fair game for mockery and excessive criticism…” This implies that the writer feels that they should not be fair game while others should, which is… a double standard! Ah, hypocrisy.
