Unblogged Bits (Mon. 4-Apr-11 1130)

Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….

  1. Ho boy! Denver is getting a Steak ‘n Shake! – Denver Restaurants and Dining – Cafe Society – Um … that intersection cited would be … very convenient.
  2. Oregon gets ‘substantially more’ revenue from the lottery than from corporate income tax – Tax regression for everyone! Whee!
  3. Zakaria States it Plain : EvolutionBlog – Some further info of interest regarding the whole Quran-burning fiasco.
  4. Koran-Burning Pastor Feels No Responsiblity For His Actions – Right, “they use it as an excuse.” Except that what happened in response to your actions, Jones, was not business as usual in Afghanistan.
  5. Lindsey Graham: Congress Should “Reinforce” Patraeus Condemnation Of Koran-Burning Preacher – As doltish as Terry Jones and his Quran-burning crew are, treating this as a wartime offense that requires some legal action against it is even worse. If Sen Graham wants to get Congress to pass a resolution stating the opinion of Congress about Quran burning, that’s fine. But anything more than that is a case of the cure (as if it would be a cure) being worse than the disease.

  1. I’d be interested to know the break out between “scratch ticket/lotto” type games and the “video lottery” games that are legal in Oregon.
Not only do we have casinos, you can go to pretty much every bar/restaurant in the state and play video poker and slots that the money goes to the lottery fund.
