Unblogged Bits (Sat. 30-Apr-11 0530)

Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….

  1. Fischer: Social Security and Medicare Are “Ungodly” Programs Of “National Suicide” – There’s so much crazy here, it beggars belief.
  2. ACLJ Hails Its $21K Settlement For Its Omniscient Bus Driver – “So naturally it is only a matter of time before the ACLJ steps up and represents a Muslim bus driver who was fired for refusing to transport Christians to church on the grounds that said bus driver has a right to conscience and to take a stand for the principle that “employees cannot be discriminated against based on their religious beliefs.”

  1. 1. “The pursuit of happiness” is a euphemism for “property”? Why would “property” need a euphemism? If the founders meant property, they would have said “property.”

And if the whole idea is to protect “life, liberty, and the right to happiness,” how is taking away Medicare and Social Security going to help? Medicare helps save lives, and I do not doubt that Social Security helps seniors retain their property.

Giving away other people’s money, money forcibly extracted from the wallets of citizens under threat of incarceration, is just theft and greed cloaking itself as nobility.

So, the government cannot spend any money because it was all extorted? Eliminating three programs will not change this. We would have to do away with all forms of taxation. The government (federal, state, and local) would have to raise money through donations or by selling goods and services.

Honestly, does this guy think through anything he writes?
