Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Merriam-Webster Online – Fun. Though I have to confess I use some of these on occasion, though not (I hope) in an intentionally affected fashion. “Jiggery-pokery” is probably the most common in my vocabulary.
- Sex on the brain: Orgasms unlock altered consciousness – life – 11 May 2011 – New Scientist – Interesting stuff.
- Calculations may have overestimated extinction rates – environment – 18 May 2011 – New Scientist – I will, of course, eagerly await the reactionary claim that this means that there is no species extinction, just a bunch of Marxist scientists wanting the UN to take away our sacred light bulbs or something.
- United apologizes for reusing 9/11 flight numbers – The Denver Post – Sacred … flight numbers? I mean, I can understand wanting to be respectful and all of that, but not only are we a decade along the line, but calling these numbers “sacred” (and calling it a matter of “right and wrong”) seems more than a bit overwrought.
- What Jesus Really Meant by the Story of Lazarus – That’s a great interpretation.
- Made of WIN and AWESOME: Remote-Controlled Superhero [Video] – Very, very cool.
- YouTube – Osama’s watery grave captured – Heh.

1. I knew only half of those words, and do not regularly use any of them.
2. Wait. Didn’t you link to a story about a conservative Christian saying that things that lead to altered states of consciousness are anti-Christian?
