- 90 percent of US net users don’t know from crtl-F – While I use both the keyboard shortcuts mentioned, I would submit they are not necessary for effective or efficient use of the computer, as both have mouse-clickable means of doing them. (Also, some MS products don’t use Ctrl-F, but Ctrl-F4, which is endlessly irksome.) Are these handy things to tell someone? Sure. Are they critical, vs. knowing you can search in a document in the first place? Not really.

Did you read the comments on the article – Anybody who doesn’t use keyboard shortcuts is a dribbling imbecile.
Yeah, I’m all too familiar with that attitude. Some people swear by them, and if it works for them, more power to ’em, but the attitude irks me a lot.
While there are some basic keyboard shortcuts I learn in most apps, I find I’m usually fast enough with the mouse and menu.
