- Republicans wage war on good government, and no one notices – War Room – Salon.com – “This is a war on the basic functionality of the federal government, not any sort of philosophical conservative attack on government overreach. Denying political “victories” to political opponents is the primary goal here, and the fact that making government dysfunctional gives heft to the argument that government can’t be trusted is really just a nice side benefit.”
- Wash Post: Obama health care plan didn’t cut Medicare like Bachmann and Romney claimed – Don’t let your facts get in the way of our talking points!
- Romney Promises to Outlaw Political Contributions from Union Dues – As opposed to, say, an employer who might take the profits based on the work I’ve done and … make contributions “to elect people who might do their bidding”? Dolt.
- NC GOP Lawmaker: Gays Could ‘Lose Rights’ Without Marriage Ban – Let’s see — institutions extended benefits (“rights” in Folwell’s eyes, though I suspect he’d fight tooth and nail if someone tried to declare health care a “right”) to gay domestic partners because they couldn’t get married like straights. - Tea Party Audience Cheers The Concept Of Letting Sick People Die « Alan Colmes’ Liberaland – Wonder how many of these sociopaths were wailing and gnashing their teeth about the Terri Schiavo case, or were outraged over Dr Kevorkian, or nod their heads in pious gravity over the parable of the Good Samaritan?
- FBI says three pulled from Frontier flight were strangers – The Denver Post – I wouldn’t call it an “abundance of caution,” I’d call it paranoia. Especially as the news story has evolved.
- Census: US poverty rate swells to nearly 1 in 6 – The Denver Post – I’m sure if we just cut off unemployment and ratchet back welfare, then this problem will solve itself, either by rich people using all those tax savings to hire on people at living wages, or because folks will die “and decrease the surplus population.”
