16) According to the NYPD Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna “was not aiming at the four women who appeared in videos to have sustained the brunt of the spray. Rather, he was trying to spray some men who he believed were pushing up against officers and causing a confrontation that put officers at risk of injury” but he sprayed the women and caught some of his own officers as well. On the video you can clearly see that there are no confrontational men within 15-20′ of those sprayed. So their defense is that Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna was one of: completely incompetent, spastic, drunk, stoned or legally blind.
I respect the job the police have to do in our society an awful lot. But sometimes some of them make it awfully hard.
