- DC Women Kicking Ass – Crisis? What Crisis? Didio says all crisis out of continuity – Comic book continuity can strangle creativity, but it can also provide a huge backdrop to write even better stories. My cavil with DC on this is not that they’ve rebooted, so much as they’ve rebooted with very little idea of what they’re doing, with some books’ restarted while others carry on, and this sort of “after further review” crap. Sloppy, sloppy editorial.

5. Wait… No Crises? So we’re back to the status quo before Crisis on Infinite Earths, with Earths-1, -2, -S, and Prime?
No, I don’t see how that’s possible. Captain Atom entered the DCU as a result of CoIE, and he has a title in the DCnU. Unless, of course, the Crisis supposedly had nothing to do with the Charlton characters showing up.
What about the JSA? Are any of them in the DCnU?
There is apparently a JSA book (on Earth-2) coming out next year. As far as I can tell from the latest incoherence, DC is back in true multiverse mode (unclear if that’s limited to the “52” universes). Unclear if we have an Earth-Prime out there.
I wouldn’t count on Captain Atom (or Blue Beetle, for that matter) coming from Charleton to depend on CoIE for their appearance here. (Handwaves the inconsistencies.) (Btw, Ted Cord is supposedly now back, but not as Blue Beetle, who is once again / still Jaime Reyes.)
Well, if the JSA is on Earth-2, then I accept that the Crises are undone and that the introduction of the Charlton characters at the time were coincidental. I do wish Ted Kord were the Blue Beetle in the DCnU, though.
I guess they can keep any Crisis changes they like (such as Wonder Woman’s ability to fly and Superman’s strength being insufficient to push planets around) by saying that they were (re)introduced in Flashpoint.
Yeah, ain’t it amazing the differences that event “caused”? Somehow?
