Hmmmm. Wonder why Time's editorial staff chose this particular cover for the USA, vs. the rest of the world (http://www.time.com/time/magazine) . The US gets to be reassured about anxiety — the rest of the world get reminders of protests and revolution. Hmmmm. #ddtb
TIME says don't worry, be happy!

Not the first time. For example, the Oct 24 cover for the rest of the world was “Why the U.S. will never save Afghanistan” vs. “The Return of the Silent Majority” for us.
In August, it was “Travels Through Islam” (Discovering a world of change and challenge in the footsteps of the 14th century explorer Ibn Battuta.) vs. “Chore Wars” (Men are now pulling their weight–at work and home. So why do women still think they’re slacking off.)
@Solonor – No, I’m well aware it’s not the first time. And while I can understand there’s a certain measure of “What story will be of most interest to the target audience” to it, it still smacks of either an ideological intent or else the slightly (but only slightly) more defensible “what we hope won’t offend our target audience (and their representatives)”.
Well, considering that Time hasn’t been a source of news or information for that past twenty years, it really doesn’t matter at all. I mean it would be like tuning into FOX and expecting news.
@BD – Point taken. It’s just rare that the men behind the curtain can be seen at work.
