Donald Trump is a modern-day P.T. Barnum — except that Barnum was actually a much nicer guy in fact. Anyway, as he coincidentally is flogging a new book, he's busy setting up a "debate" with the GOP candidates … and, of course, mocking those who've said they won't be there.
And, of course, he's threatening … er, promising to consider an Independent run if he doesn't think the GOP candidate can win against Obama.
The fact of the matter is that what Trump cares about is … Trump. And I love (via +Chris Ruhs ) this buried gem at the bottom of the article:
"NBC figures show that voters in Iowa and New Hampshire would be less likely to support a candidate who gets Trump’s support by a 2-1 margin."
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but …

Books. Trump: Huntsman and Paul are 'joke candidates'. The mogul said if the right GOP nominee doesn't emerge, he'll jump in as an independent. By Scott Stump. TODAY.com contributor. D…
If Trump enters the race, he’ll be right at home with the other buffoons contending for the Republican nomination this year.
@Paul – The joke being that he already toyed with running, very publicly, before dropping out. And yet, shamelessly, here he is again. Does anyone think it’s in order to Save the Republic? Yeesh.
