Actually, maybe crazy like a fox. My speculation:
1. Perry's worried about his Texas status. Quitting too early won't play well there.
2. Perry's hoping that Bachmann (and possibly others) quitting might give his conservative cred a boost vs Romney.
3. Perry's angling now for a VP slot and has to show he's a stronger candidate than Santorum.
Or, of course, he may just be crazy. #ddtb
