The Dems are by no means immune to the draw of big money … or the corruption that can result from it. My sense is that it is not quite the problem it is on the GOP side, but it's still a problem (as the recent SOPA/PIPA brouhaha demonstrated). #ddtb

Dems bash, bank secret cash – Kenneth P. Vogel and Alexander Burns
Team Obama blesses a network of super PACs trying to raise the same checks as Romney’s.

Money is a HUGE problem for both sides. The Dems generally stand on the side of reformiong the game (and I’m told that many Republicans do, privately, as well), but they simply cannot take the moral high ground and not use the system as designed or they will lose, and lose badly.
Double edged sword.
I’d go along with that, Arty, if I didn’t see the corrosive effects it has on the Dems. Their water-carrying for Big Media (as shown in the recent SOPA/PIPA battle, but visible in pretty much anything having to do with DRM and IP and supported by the RIAA and MPAA) is but an example.
