(Well, it was either that headline or some lame play on Easter and Rising from the Dead …)
So I’ve been sick, which my long-term readers know is the only thing (aside from being shut away from Internet connectivity altogether, or being eaten by a grue) that keeps me off the air. I came down with a fever Tuesday, things peaked (or reached their nadir) Thursday, and I was pretty much back among the living Saturday, enough to not cancel our Easter dinner tonight (though I may be less than my usual vigorous hosting self for it).
No hospital stays required, but I thought it was a fun picture.
It really was a “ugh fever don’t feel good don’t want to do anything just wanna feel better blah” kind of a thing. I watched a lot of TV, read a lot, and wore a hole in the couch. Oh, and did a number on our Ibuprofin supply.
Anyway I’m kinda-sorta back (waves), and we should resume our regular consumption of bandwidth tomorrow — assuming I can do anything in-between playing catch-up (again) on work-related stuff.

Dave, I’m happy to see you back. I know we don’t know each other, but I was worried anyway. May you continue to recover and be back doing everything you want, very soon.
@Ellie – Thanks. I always appreciate warm wishes and the like, and while we “don’t know each other,” we have at least a social acquaintance through these pages.
The only good thing about your absence is that it’s giving me time to catch up with your blog.
I didn’t have fever or aches (aside from muscles involved with heavy coughing) as the rest of the household had, but the coughing was about thrice as bad as my usual cough, and more frequent. I think mine might have been allergies, but not sure. Tessalon works on my usual cough, but even with mucinex, didn’t touch anything. It hurt in odd places (for me, that is), but it’s mostly gone, unless I lie too flat on the bed. Kurt had it the worst, and he even stayed home sick for a week, which is unheard-of with him.
The colleague of my internist seemed to think that, since vicodin and Codeine make me vilely ill, 8 oz of booze at bedtime wasn’t a bad way to treat my cough.
@Marina – Like the old joke says, “It couldn’t hurt!”
