***Dave Does the Comics – Issue 36 (6 May 2012)

Not a heck of a lot of comics out this week, and none of them spectacular — but there are some good ones. Also, there are some new New 52 issues that bear a bit of looking at. And also I manage to talk for 24 minutes; sorry about that. But a big announcement down at the bottom!

The podcast playback button is at the bottom of the post. The covers below are for the issues I gave an individual review of; hover over the covers below to see the ratings out of 5 stars (with an occasional comment).

Earth 2 #1 - Most Disappointing New 52 Debut This Month
Worlds' Finest #1 - Most Exciting New 52 Debut This Week
Fury Max #1 - Favorite Comic This Week

I’m on business travel the next couple of weeks, which will impact my comic book purchase timing and ability to prep for this podcast (i.e., read all those comics). So we may be in hiatus a couple of weeks … but will return!

  1. I don’t know why you’re apologetic about a 24-minute podcast. I prefer the in-depth reviews as well as many reviews in a ‘cast. Heck, I say you expand to an hour. Who’s with me?

Say, how about a one-shot (or occasional) podcast about cartoons based on comics? You can talk about how great Young Justice is, how Green Lantern is fairly entertaining, and how Ultimate Spider-Man causes brain hemorrhages.
