'In a statement to FoxNews.com, an Our Lady of Sorrows official said the school had no choice but to forfeit because it has a strict policy prohibiting participation in co-ed athletics and believes in "forming and educating boys and girls" separately.
“Teaching our boys to treat ladies with deference, we choose not to place them in an athletic competition where proper boundaries can only be respected with difficulty,” the statement read. "Our school aims to instill in our boys a profound respect for women and girls.".'
Your loss, OLoS. Metaphorically and literally. I'm not sure how refusing to play baseball against a (eek!) girl is providing deference and respect, to be honest. The (eek!) girl certainly doesn't sound happy, respected, or deferred-to about it.

A fundamentalist Catholic school in Arizona has forfeited a state championship baseball game rather than face a team that fields a female player, citing a “traditional approach to education.”

Ah yes, The Society of St. Pius X. They have The Truth, spoken in Latin, the language Jesus spoke. For girls and women to obtain that “profound respect,” they must remember to keep their place:
Virgin Mother
Virgin Martyr
Mother Dying Nobly In Childbirth
Certainly, they can’t be playing with the boys!
@Ellie Let alone in a body-mingling full contact sport like baseball! Our impressionable boys might get the vapours!
I like how there’s this subtle spin in the article (not so subtle in the comments) that this is the girl’s fault for not volunteering to stay on the bench like she had when the teams played during the season.
@Solonor Yes, how dare she disrespect our faith by not kowtowing to it!? Courtesy and the Constitution demand she accept our restrictions, regardless of what her own clearly inferior beliefs might say!
