A mystery man in a black classic Corvette. Who helps those in trouble, asking only that, when he asks them for a favor in return, they do so.
I loved the main titles for this show, as (yes) cheesy as they are by today's standard (mystical karate! veiled women! car parts! emmasculated Vitruvian Man!). And the music was by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter, so it rocked. And I loved the slowly-unveiling backstory of who Ray actually was …
And it was a Stephen J. Cannell production, which was the gold standard for fun action TV in that era.
(Not to be confused with another Guity Childhood TV Pleasure, "Stingray" (1964) (http://youtu.be/rPu9mLfLoOA))

That’s possibly the least memorable Post/Carpenter theme. I do like Cannell’s shows (I have read only one of his novels). Too bad Netflix doesn’t have this series.
@Avo – I kinda like the music. Which is good, because it’s been running through my head all day.
My favourite vehicle-based summer TV show is The Highwayman.
In the future, law enforcement is handled by cops driving big rigs…with helicopters in the trailer!

@Steve – I seem to have missed that one. Mercifully.
