New "kids in gay familes suffer horribly" study is pretty bogus.

New "kids in gay familes suffer horribly" study is pretty bogus.

If for no other reason than it compares apples (children of married heterosexual couples) to oranges (mostly children of broken families where one custodial parent is gay).

But we will be hearing the Regnerus study dredged up as "proof" of that gay marriage, gay adoption, etc., are evil and should be banned / illegal _forever_.  Because that's about all the ammo they have.

  1. Even if you (anti-gay person) don't agree with such things, it is not the place of the state to decide. Especially since we have adoption centers overflowing and, since the same people that tend to want this also want to prevent abortion which would especially mean, more children in that system needing homes every day.

  2. Agreed — there are a lot of acting a cross-purposes among some very similar groups: anti-abortion, anti-gay-adoption, etc.

Of course, I think the real agenda is trying to shoehorn things back to some mythical Golden Age when we wouldn't have overflowing adoption centers, abortion wouldn't exist, sex and baby-making would only happen during marriage, and gays could be stoned again.

  3. To be fair though +Dave Hill, we have to admit similar tactics from the other side of these pitiful debates as well. An example being the pro-choice camp fighting for planned parenthood to provide contraception with tax payer money.

Limiting the size of government protects both groups views and rights. Laws, or debates about new laws, that trample anyone's rights are only distractions to real issues, like federal spending.

  4. Kevin, I agree completely with your first comment.
You just know that most of the babies who’d be needing adoption are not cute, healthy blond & blue-eyed. Most are of color (if I may extrapolate from the women I’ve seen in clinics), and some of those fetuses may have congenital diseases/disorders, or have already been harmed in utero.
