Does the Fredric Brown book have “Arena”? I read it in an early issue of Starlog. So different from the Star Trek episode!
@Avo – Yes, it does. And it’s not clear that the Brown story was the actual inspiration, but after the story was written (and perhaps titled), it appears that some one realized that there were also some fundamental similarities, and so the suits made sure the proper legal forms were followed, including Brown getting a credit.
