I feel torn on this, as on the one hand I can see Google's point here, and what they need to do to protect their own position — and, on the other hand, I've used this service to pull down music that was not available elsewhere.

It's a shame if it does come to that service being sued, one way to get around it would be to download the video and extract the audio using software.
