There! Indjia!

So, pretty much ready for my business trip to India.  Bags packed (managed in a single carry-on rolly, plus my briefcase). Passport and visa at hand. USB key with various presentations and files. Miffy and Tablet. Malaria medicine. Kindle-of-many-books for the 15 hour flight from Newark.

I would feel more comfortable about the trip (to Mumbai and New Delhi, see map below) if there weren't so many variables. I'm not going as part of a group, but as the senior member of a duo. Most of the plans have been made by others, but there are gaps that leave me uncomfortable. Concerns — from general safety to "don't drink the water." And, of course, an introduction to folks who work with me whom I don't know, plus discussions with senior management about an impending hire, plus some potentially unpleasant conversations with peeps who don't work and play well together.

Throw in a bit of anticipated 11.5 hour Time Zone jet lag, late night arrivals, and full daytime schedules, and it's a perfect arrangement for stressifying.

Ah, well — at least the food should be good.

  1. Don't forget loperamide as well for any general diarrhoea / food poisoning cases that are not malaria. After a bad incident – travelling to the UK of all places – I never go on a trip without it.

    1. Closest I could find was the Khyber Pass. I was going to link to it, but it didn’t have the theme song — and the only theme song I could find on YouTube was the extended version which didn’t have the animation.

So, yes, I thought of these things. 🙂
