Granted, I'm a Google Zombie — but not only does Google give me value for the various data it extracts from my use of its services, but I've not seen any indication that it's anything less than anonymized data.
Facebook, on the other hand, seems bound and determined to extract every little bit of info it can about you and sell it directly to the highest bidder. And it can get away with it because most consumers simply shrug and then laugh at a LOLcat image someone posted for them on Facebook.

They have been doing it anyway for a while…then they get caught and stop. While it is wrong of them to do it, people really should think about what info they put on there anyway esp with FBs track record. I wish I didn't have to be on FB…but all my family is in TN and on there, not here…so in order to interact with them I need to be on there. Hell, they don't even email me anymore, they only communicate through FB. 🙁
Yeah. I don't have anyone critical there, but I have enough friends and family that I check in at least once a week.
