Colorado GOP struggles with being (kinda-sorta) two parties

You've got the business / budget / taxation conservatives who want to pass bills to grow the economy and cut taxes and make it easier for businesses to do whatever they want.

And you've got the evangelical / Bible-thumping / social conservatives who want to teach creationism in school, ban abortions, and keep those gays from getting so uppity.

Of course, in some people those are the same thing. But for a lot of folks in the former camp, the continuing electorate-scaring antics of the latter half are a cause for concern.  Well, they're a cause for concern for a lot of folks, self included, but for the GOPers, they're a cause for concern because they brand the party, rightly or wrongly, as being … well … evangelical / Bible-thumping / social conservatives who aren't likely to win elections outside of select districts.
