If the GOP actually followed through on these recommendations from the RNC's own post mortem, they might actually stand a chance of reasonably decent governance. And, even as a liberal, I want to see that happen.
Unfortunately, there are too many conservative blocs in the GOP insisting that the goal should not be moderation and outreach, but ideological purity and extremism. They can't win that way in the long run — but they can do a lot of damage in the short run. Indeed, they already have.
