They stripped off the old shingles and tar paper, and put down the new sealing covering and tacked down the new shingles on top of that. They were at least 95% done by end of day, and had everything very nicely tidied up as well.
The inspector comes tomorrow.
Generally speaking, the color of the new asphalt-laminate shingles is a good match. They've turned out to be a bit less profiled than I think we ideally wanted, but the color variations help that a lot, and, honestly, I'm just glad it's done.
