I suppose to audiences raised on CG, Harryhausen's work will seem primitive and unrealistic. Watching that video, I was amazed at how well it seemed to hold up. Given the technology, it's amazingly lifelike.
Harryhausen's name was always a draw for me, and will continue to be. He was the master of his craft. I hope he knew how much his work meant to us.
Harryhausen had a good long run, but still… dammit! I’m glad he was around long enough to enjoy a bit of a revival, thanks to recorded media.
