I've used Latitude a little bit — it was fun watching Margie and Mary drive out to Colorado, and I've occasionally gone and looked at my own wander-about history — but knowing where all my cool friends are, and their knowing where I am, has never been something I've felt compulsive about (and, indeed, not been all that interested in), whether in Latitude or Plus.

I'm very unhappy about this. I found Latitude invaluable in helping me figure out where my wife was without having to bothering her with a phone call.
I also love Location History. I wonder if they'll be discontinuing that as well?
I can see where it would be useful for that sort of thing (strictly in a non-creepy way). It's not an MO that my wife and I have had to need (we don't call, but we do IM/Gtalk to touch bases).
Since my husband tend not to take has phone with him, latitude was of no help in figuring out where he was out when he be home demanding dinner.
