How Much News Do You Know?
Huh. Managed to get 12 of 13 (blew it on a graph, sort of, and that was the question most commonly missed). Not easy questions.

Damn. 12 of 13 here. My miss was identifying a woman's picture. I had narrowed it to 2 and <mutter> picked the wrong one.
Since you had 11 of 12, I wonder if they randomize the questions.
No, I think I wrote down the wrong number sequence. It's been a long day. (Corrected.)
I missed the graph of the stock market.
+Solonor Rasreth Yeah, that's the one I missed. Got the general trend, but missed the dips.
That was a tricky one. It helped me that I recalled the crash took place immediately prior to the 2008 election and John McCain cancelled an appearance on Letterman ostensibly to return to Washington to be briefed (though he ended up staying in NYC overnight to appear on one of the morning shows the next day — pissing Letterman off who then made McCain the butt of jokes through the election). Then I recalled comments earlier this year that the DJ Industrial Average had finally made a new high for the first time since the crash of 2008. There was only one that had the end points almost the same with a big dip immediately after the start.
I’m torn between thinking “How dumb am I?” and “Wow! I did better than 85% percent of the public.” I had three wrong, including the stock market graph. I did not know more women were graduating, and I am not telling the third because it was a stupid mistake. So, I’m going with “Wow! I did better than 85% of the public…and I’d better start paying more attention.”
I am shocked that I did better than Dave on this. 13 of 13 for me. My favorite was the population graph, because it combined thinking about what it meant and knowledge of the countries. I thought the who is this questions were the least insightful.
Well, they were certainly the more topical and transitory. The others required a bit broader knowledge and history.
I got 13 of 13 by virtue of a couple of lucky guesses and by eliminating a number of answers before guessing. For that reason, I think there should have been a secondary question with each question that asked whether any guessing was going on, and if so, how many answers were eliminated before guessing.
Also 12/13. I got the state map question wrong, guessing it was states with minimum wage. I had to guess on that one and the "women in congress" question.
