'“It’s not going to be the end of the world, honestly, even if you’re on nutritional assistance from the federal government. The state of Arkansas can help out, localities can help out, churches can help out, I believe no one is going to starve in Arkansas because of the shutdown.”'
And, of course, that means we might as well just get rid of all those federal programs anyway, right?
Stay classy, Bill. And well-fed.
Kristol: ‘Not the end of the world’ if shutdown halts food benefits — MSNBC
Bill Kristol downplayed the consequences of the shutdown on Morning Joe, saying he thought there was “a little bit too much hysteria.”
I can guarantee you he's not personally giving to any charities or organizations will be stepping up to try to keep people from starving to death. But hey, as long as someone's doing it, right?
I won't presume to guess what charities he contributes to, if any.
But he sure seems to feel that, for example, the people in trouble in Arkansas — are the responsibility of other people in Arkansas.
"Can" ≠ "will." Some people may receive assistance; many (perhaps most) will not. But because they might, eviscera like this guy can sleep peacefully at night.
Well, and if they don't then it's obviously someone else's fault, not the House GOP.
