I've actually enjoyed "Beware the Batman" far more than I expected. Though it's very revisionist in its treatment of Alfred and of Batman's side-kick (as well as a completely new rogues gallery), it captures for me quite neatly the spirit of Batman. The CG animation takes a bit of getting used to as well, but ultimately it works pretty well.
Nonetheless, Cartoon Network has yanked it from the schedule until January. Which calls to mind its similar yanking of "Young Justice" and other mistreatment of DC Comics material.
Since I don't actually view CN all that much, I have no idea how much support they've given the series, as explanation for the tepid viewership numbers. But I'd recommend it for a look-see — once it returns.
Is Cartoon Network trying to kill Beware the Batman already?
In news that should feel queasily familiar to fans of DC’s recent animated series, Cartoon Network has yanked the new Beware the Batman cartoon off the air after a mere 11 episodes.
