I mean, criminitely, people, all these Welfare Queens living high on the hog and fat on the taxpayer's teat with their lavish $275.13 a month — I mean, that's an outrageously generous $3,302 a year, which is surely enough to dissuade anyone from going out and finding an honest living. So hell, yeah, let's cut that fabulous largess by 13% — I'm sure there's a Koch Brother somewhere who needs a new yacht more than some little kid needs breakfast!

Families brace for impact of food stamp cuts

+NBC News: Sweeping cuts to U.S. food stamps will kick in today and many people who depend on the program to put breakfast, lunch and dinner on the table are bracing for the impact.

The automatic cuts, which total about $5 billion, are a result of the expiration of temporary funds from a 2009 stimulus.

Americans are expected to suffer an average loss of $36 a month from a $275.13 per household benefit. There are a near-record 47.6 million Americans, representing 23.1 million households, on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
