A ★★★½ review of Epic (2013)
“Epic” is … not. But it’s not bad, and even if it flits about like a hummingbird on crack, neglecting all the most cursory character development, it also features some gorgeous animation and some decently moving emotional beats. Movie Review: "Epic" (2013)
Kay has been jonesing for us to see this movie with her. So we did (that's gotta be worth a couple of B5 episodes, right?). And, actually, it turned out better than I thought, with most of the frenetic pacing and face-slapping goofiness balanced by some genuine poignancy and some really nice visuals.

The first short trailer made it look kinda cool, but the extended trailer made it look tedious and annoying.
@BD – I don’t recall the trailers, but I could imagine both.
If I remember correctly, the only part that Mary and laughed hard at was the Fruit Fly ageing.
