  1. As someone in the comments mentioned (and I knew from ten years of working there), Sam's Club, a division of WalMart, won't be open either.

    gasp!!

    I think it's more a matter of Costco, BJ's, and Sam's being a different kind of 'retail animal' than anything else.

    But, hey, if they want to spin it, more power to them.

    You're correct that they're something a bit different from a Target / WalMart — Costco, at least, doesn't do much in the way of Big Sale Events. I suspect, though, they could get into "Black Thursday" if they chose to.
