Thanks

I am thankful for a whole hell of a lot. I have a really nice life, even by the standards of the society I was born into. Some of that comes from hard work and good judgment on my part, but a lot comes from the people around me who have (and continue) to provide the opportunity and assistance for my hard work and good judgment to pay off.

And a lot goes to [insert X factor(s) — circumstance / fate / destiny / fortune, coincidence / Providence / karma — of your choice, because it isn't a day for arguing over it]  for elements beyond what I can identify or predict, let alone control, that have led to my happy life today.

I'm thankful for my family, my friends, my colleagues, and most of all, my lovely wife and spiffy daughter.

And, specifically in this context, I'm thankful for you folks, my readers / followers / commenters, because you give me an outlet for my screedifying and silly jokes and fanboyishness and "why does he think anyone would be interested in knowing that about his life" journaling before a live audience.

So, to everyone — thanks.

Now, time to start tidying the house …
