Movie Review: "Total Recall" (1990)

Arnold Schwarzenegger + Paul Verhoeven + Philip K Dick = automatic weapons + buckets o' blood + three-breasted women + intriguing questions about the meaning of personal identity.  Oh, and some R-rated language. But also a lot of fun.

A ★★★★ review of Total Recall (1990)
Here’s a film that combines Arnold Schwarzenegger action, Paul Verhoeven violence and profanity, some pretty nice practical effects work (in this pre-CG era), and a soupcon of mind-blowingness from Philip K Dick. The result is lots of gunplay and sex jokes and F-bombs, wrapped up in a tale of a working joe who discovers that he’s really a mind-erased super-spy who holds the key to a conspiracy that can change the fate of the humans living on Mars…
