On the Renumbering of Comics

Okay, yes, I understand it boosts sales (at least temporarily). And I understand that it tied to story arcs and creative team changes, it's a legitimate model.

But it still irks the heck out of me.

  1. It's certainly more difficult for the regular buyer, unless the service / shop automatically carries over the pull. 

    It's really a pain for folks who try to actually keep track of a collection.

  2. emancipates you if you've been buying some titles since the 70s.. i'd pick up the odd 20 issues of the hulk or something since i had so many earlier ones.. that "final" issue in the sequence breaks you free
