I feel so much safer, knowing that if I get pulled aside for a "random" drug check at the border then I can be put through multiple body cavity checks, then be hauled to the hospital for still more checks, including X-rays and a witnessed bowel movement, and then, if I don't sign a consent form, I can be charged $5K for the exam, all without need of warrant or access to a lawyer.
Don't you feel safer?

I am not a doctor, but how does it square with the Hippocratic Oath to (according to the personnel at the hospital) routinely perform these examinations?

On the other hand, when you have the law enforcement folks there on a regular basis, then it simply becomes something you do for a colleague. And if you do occasionally (if not frequently) get some hits, or if you have the law enforcement folks asserting that there's reason to think that the person is a drug trafficker — well, that would remove a lot of the barrier.
+Dave Hill It gets worse, if they can find a doctor crooked enough to go along with it, they can repeat the procedure as long as they want.
So, torture.
If you have to pay $5k, the least they could do is check for polyps and any other signs of illness!
