  1. I don’t have a family member, but I have Andrew The Computer Guy (not his company’s name – just what we call him), and I can’t imagine calling some off the wall company I’ve never heard of. But, I know people do. Glad to see the FTC is taking some kind of action.

    1. @Ellie – A lot of folks I know simply trust the Internet — “If it’s in Google, it has to be okay, right? Isn’t there a law?”

      Fortunately, I’ve gotten various family members trained to, if in doubt about some mysterious error message, pop-up, or unsolicited phone call is about, call me.
