I love you, Wil, but …

Watched the premiere episode of the "Wil Wheaton Project" on Syfy tonight. There were fun, laugh-out-loud moments, but there were also too many moments that reminded us too much of Tosh 2.0. My daughter's comment was, "Is he really that mean?" Or my wife's, "He's channeling Evil Wil Wheaton too much."

To be fair, it was a first episode. I'm giving it a certain measure of break.

But, yeah, +Wil Wheaton, recapping the week's geek news, and having some fun while doing it? Cool. But don't try quite so hard, lest you come off as that guy in the group who tries to top everyone with a joke that's just a bit too off-color. Enthusiasm for the subject will be more impactful than enthusiastic mockery, amiright amiright. You have a good eye for this kind of thing, based on your writing — trust yourself, not the lines-for-yocks.
